What is Vitamin E?
Vitamin E is a generic term consisting of eight naturally occurring forms : Tocotrienols (d-alpha-, d-beta-, d-gamma- & d-delta-tocotrienol) and Tocopherols (d-alpha-, d-beta-, d-gamma- & d-delta-tocopherol). Vegetable oils like soybean, sunflower, olive oils and green leafy vegetables are the best sources of tocopherols; whereas tocotrienols occur in the oils of rice bran, palm fruit, barley, and wheat germ.
Is Vitamin E important?
Vitamin E is an essential lipid-soluble vitamin that is important in maintaining healthy body and mind. Vitamin E deficiency can cause fertility problems, nerve and muscle damage. Another important role is to act as an antioxidant, scavenging loose electrons – so-called “free radicals” – that can damage cells.
How does TocoGaia™/ Tocotrienols work?
Tocotrienols differ from tocopherols by the presence of THREE double bonds in its isoprenoid tail; whereas tocopherols have a fully saturated tail. In a layman’s term, tocotrienols can be defined as the “Unsaturated Form of Vitamin E”.
Scientific studies and clinical trials demonstrate several unique health benefits such as brain & cognitive health, liver support, skin nutrition, hair growth and cardiovascular health. Hence, it can be used in dietary supplements, functional foods as well as cosmetic products.

Palm Tocotrienols/Tocopherol Is Important For:
Skin Nutrition
Vitamin E is a recognized lipid antioxidant. Tocotrienols’ antioxidant activity is 40-60 times more potent than tocopherol. Its skin-anti-aging properties and photoprotective effect have reported in clinical papers – both oral and topical.*
Liver Health
Tocotrienols’ liver support function has been reported in at least 3 human clinical papers. The findings revealed that tocotrienols help to mitigate fatty liver by its superior antioxidant activity and improving lipid metabolism.
Brain & Cognitive Health
Since 1999, significant body of science reported tocotrienols’ important role in protecting the brain and supporting healthy cognitive functions.*
Cardiovascular
One unique benefit of tocotrienols is its cardioprotective properties. Clinical trials have reported its supporting healthy cardiovascular function i.e. maintaining healthy cholesterols level and arterial compliance.*
Hair Growth
Research reported that palm tocotrienol promotes healthy hair growth through oral supplementation & topical application.*
